People need to feel their lives are purposeful and when we can give of ourselves and make positive change happen it feels great. Also, our world is inter-connected and we all affect each other. This is why we believe that by reaching out to others we are creating a better world for all of us - them AND us.

Help make poverty history!
In the 1960's, the Canadian government came up with the idea of nations contributing 0.7% of their national income to developing countries. So far Canada has yet to reach this! In fact our level of foreign aid has been dropping for years. In 1987 it was at 0.5% and in 2005 a paltry 0.28%.
Meanwhile, some countries even give more (Holland - 0.81%, Norway - 0.95%). There's no reason we in Canada can't do our part. Every day 50,000 people die as a result of extreme poverty. You can help change this! Click the link on the right to tell the Canadian government to honour our commitment.
